Psychophysical Research on Humans | Sport Science
I have a
unique profile that combines academic expertise, risk management experience,
and a strategic vision for the future.
I’m an independent scholar in sport science.
I have developed research on sports
performance. The disciplines on which the analysis models have been developed
are Formula 1, Formula E, football, tennis, basketball, skiing, golf, padel,
basket, swimming.
High-level sports are increasingly shifting from a "sectorial" approach to a holistic approach that simultaneously takes into account biomechanical factors, physiological parameters, psychological and cognitive indicators, tactical strategies, emotional state, and mental recovery. Integrating these data allows for a much more accurate and dynamic picture of the athlete, not only in terms of performance but also in terms of injury prevention and individualized development.
The mental aspect is at least as important as the physical one, and in some sports it can even be decisive (for example, golf, tennis, shooting, endurance sports) because stress and emotional management directly influence performance, cognitive load affects the perception of fatigue, altered posture and movement can result from states of anxiety or mental fatigue, and the ability to concentrate and the quality of decision-making are often the key factors that distinguish good athletes from great ones.
I have worked extensively with top professionals as well as with promising young athletes. After experimenting with athletic trainers, physiotherapists, biomechanists, and various types of physical data analysis, mental analysis now occupies a significant part of my current studies. In order to understand how the mind works, it is necessary to learn how to measure it, and it must be done in a smart way to avoid being a burden to the professionals involved. Psychological protocols for mental training then become an essential element for mental development and for managing critical issues such as anxiety or fear.
I'm co-founder of SPORTHYPE and R&D coordinator. SPORTHYPE is owned by Andrea Filippo Rosso and Alberto Marocchino.
They helped me refine and test my mathematical models for psychophysical analysis:
